Canadienne de la Nouvelle-France circa 1740-1760. This is a nearly complete ensemble, including the following: Lined mantelet (known as a bedgown in English) with two sleeve versions. "French" and "English" style shifts. This shift pattern has a gathered sleeve more common for the 1740-1760 opposed to the fitted sleeve, which was becoming popular in the 1770s. Instructions for petticoat, neckerchief and apron with two bib styles. Includes historical notes about fabrics, colors, trims, accessories, and the way to wear them. To complete this set of clothing use the Caps and Coifs pattern (LF18101). Includes four sizes (Bust / waist): 36"/26" - 38"/28" - 40"/30" - 42"/32" The mantelet requires 1 1/2 yards lightweight wool, linen, cotton print, and 1 1/2 yards, lightweight linen for a lining. Notions are 8 1/2 yards 1" cotton twill tape or 7/8" worsted twill tape in a coordinating color, and 35/2 or 50/3 linen thread. The shift requires 2 1/2 yards white or unbleached linen. The petticoat requires 2 yards lightweight wool, linen, or cotton print, 5 1/2 yards 1" cotton or 7/8" worsted twill tape in a coordinating color, and 2 1/4 yards 1/2" cotton or linen tape. The apron needs 1 1/4 yards linen and 1/4" cotton or linen tape.
