Fun!

I love the encouraging tone the author uses, she's all "you can do it!!" but not in a cheesy way. It all very empowering and rah-rah and fun. She doesn't make you think that if don't don't go out and buy just the right special equipment, then you can't possibly pull off a good project. And this book is not just written for people who have extensive crafting backgrounds either--it is not dumbed-down either, though. It is written so that people on every skill level can find projects that they can pull off. And the projects are really great--things I would actually wear, out of basic t-shirts, something that I have plenty of but more or less never wear.

I took it down one star just because I found the directions a little confusing on a couple of the projects (that could just be me though, I'm not exactly Martha Stewart). One shirt I tried to make, and I swear I was really careful about the directions, turned out so tiny it would only have fit a very small child. And also, in craft books like this I prefer that books be spiral-bound, so they stay open on your directions easily.

But still, highly recommended if you like not-ridiculously-grandmothery craft projects.
