This book is a worthwhile buy, it's very clear and simple and provides a lot of basic information you need to start to wrap your brain around pattern making. A great primer.

sewing patterns

This book gives good and basic ideas for pattern making and alterations. Guidelines for proper measuring included and helpful. But doesn't give pattern templates for more advanced pattern making. I would recommend this book for beginners to intermediate seamstress.

McCunn Rocks!

This book was the answer to my dilemma. I've been trying to make a pattern for my mother who is severely deformed with osteoporsis. This book answered all my questions. It's a must for anyone trying to sew for someone without "perfect" proportions.
