The new edition is not an improvement

I was sad to see that tailoring (the art of structuring garments by some very specific techniques) was not included in this edition. And serging and overlock, well, you have to find a specific book on overlock sewing. The new edition is pretty spare on this subject.

As a basic guide to sewing, you can't beat the pictures in the Reader's Digest guide. But the older edition book was far more comprehensive. If you aren't tailoring or doing serging, I think this is a great reference, however. I just was disappointed that the newer version was not as complete.
