Amazon.com Review
Equipped with differential feed to gather fabric for ruffles and reduce stretching when sewing knits, this 4/3/2 thread serger can perform 23 stitch functions while stitching, trimming, and overcasting in a single operation. It's convenient, fast (up to 1,300 stitches per minute), reliable, and uses standard sewing-machine needles. Stitch functions available are the 3-thread overlock, the 3-thread wrapped-edge overlock, the 4-thread mock-safety stitch, flatlock, blindhem, and rolled hem. Conversion from normal overedging to rolled hemming can be accomplished with a simple change of the throat plate.
Color-coded threading, adjustable stitch width, adjustable stitch length, a stitch-length control dial, adjustable differential feed, presser-foot pressure adjustment, and tension-adjustment dials for all four threads offer exceptional flexibility and control. Simply open the side door to convert the machine for free-arm work. The machine has a built-in carrying handle and comes with a free blindhem foot, a free elastic application foot, a standard presser foot--all snap-ons. Also included are a coupon for three free Simplicity patterns, an instruction video, and a step-by-step instruction manual. It carries warranties against defects of the following lengths: 25 years on the case, 10 years on mechanical parts, and 5 years on electrical parts. There's also a one-year warranty on labor. --Fred Brack
